ABOUT US
"The nostalgic whistles, the storytelling approach of singer Lariyah Perrin, and the overall atmosphere of the song take the listener on a hypnotic journey. The song is the band’s third track before they drop their new album, which already seems like it will be a feast for the ears. Pushing the repeat button is the only way when the highly engaging, beautiful song ends."

„If DieveNoire should be recognised as anything, it should be as an unreckonable cultural force, wielding music as a conduit for their ethos, one that scratches beneath the superficial and strikes at the cerebral. Their latest seminal single, IDGAF, delivers an intimately candid rum-soaked vignette of a soul clawing for freedom through the rebellion of living authentically, sacrilegiously in the eyes of many, yet chasing redemption through defiant selfhood.

Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned vocals poured into the track, spitting as much furore as the overdriven guitars, which bleed dark rock-licked distortion into an atmospherically intense production. It plays like a sermon for anyone weary of being told to fall in line, of being blinded to the fakery and hypocrisy that keeps the masses in check. With one of the most authentically infectious rock choruses of the year, IDGAF is communion for the disenchanted.

The force behind the single is lead vocalist Lariyah Perrin, known for her work in the metal scene since 2012 and her artistry as Iron Wings Tattoo. What began as a moment of inspiration during a late-night gathering in Finland has grown into a full band, shaped by the Southern influence of guitarist Lothar Keller and refined under Swedish producer Jakob Herrmann. Drawing from blues, country, and gothic rock, DieveNoire channel resilience and fire into every note, with IDGAF proving their ethos carries more than weight, it carries unshakable conviction.

IDGAF is now available on all major streaming platforms – including YouTube.”

During a moment of inspiration, the project DieveNoire was born—carrying an intriguing message behind its creation.
Lead vocalist Lariyah Perrin, also widely known as a tattoo artist under the name Iron Wings Tattoo, was in Europe in mid-2023 for a music festival. There, she was profoundly inspired by a late-night impromptu performance by a group of friends, some of whom were well-known figures in the black metal scene. After the festival, in the early hours of the morning, they gathered with acoustic guitars and shakers, playing familiar songs for everyone nearby. This intimate moment, combined with Lariyah’s long-standing love for old-school country, dark blues, and melodic rock and metal, moved her to pick up a guitar and start writing music.
Originally, this new endeavor was intended as a solo project. However, after the overwhelmingly positive reception of her debut single, “Gunslinger in Black,” she decided to form a full five-member, stage-ready band.
Lariyah has been part of the heavy metal scene since 2012, lending her vocals to several bands and continuing her passion for metal with Havron. So where did this new direction come from? It’s no secret that Lariyah has always admired various music genres. Since a young age, she was exposed to none other than Johnny Cash, a key influence.
Combining her Slavic roots, which are evident in her vocal style and songwriting with a newfound passion for blues and southern gothic rock, Lariyah began work on the band’s debut album, “The Story of a Gunslinger,” with the help of her husband.
Today, the band consists of:
Lariyah Perrin – vocals
Lothar Keller – lead guitar
Josh Perrin – rhythm guitar
Aaron Esquitin – drums
Paul McBride - bass
Each member brings years of experience in both recording and live touring. While Lariyah is the main songwriter, Lothar’s influence has significantly shaped the band’s sound. Known for his work with bands like The Skull, Sacred Dawn, and Legions of Doom, Lothar draws from his North Carolina roots, early musical training by his father, and a deep background in the music industry. His Southern influence has become a foundational element of DieveNoire’s vision.
Impressed with the band’s sound, Lariyah decided to elevate the project from the start. She entrusted their debut album to world-renowned Swedish producer Jakob Herrmann of Top Floor Studios in Gothenburg. Herrmann added his creative touch to organize and finalize the album’s unique style, including his addition to record drums in his studio in Sweden, located in the heart of central Gothenburg, Stora Teatern ("The Big Theatre") built in the 1850s.
Fun fact:
Lariyah and Josh met Jakob under completely random circumstances in New Orleans during Halloween festivities. While wandering around Bourbon Street late at night, they stopped by a bar where Jakob happened to be playing pool. That unexpected meeting led to a friendship, and eventually, professional collaboration. Top Floor Studios has earned recognition for work with artists like Devin Townsend, Anthrax, In Flames, Evergrey, Machine Head, and many more.
DieveNoire has since released two singles with music videos:
- “Gunslinger in Black”
- “These Boots Are Made for Walkin’” (a tribute to Nancy Sinatra)
- “The Graveyard Song”
Lariyah’s Story:
Born and raised on the Baltic Sea shore near the German border, Lariyah is originally from the small town of Dziwnów. She later moved to Szczecin for high school and university. After her first year of college, she relocated to Chicago, where she continued her education until she was scouted by the local heavy metal band Hessler.
A few years later, she moved to Atlanta, where she founded the band Khaotika—a darker, heavier project that still retained her signature melodic sensibility.
Tragically, the band disbanded about a year after a devastating tour bus crash that claimed the lives of three musicians: Nick, Khaotika’s gifted drummer, along with Paul and Ian from the band Wormreich. Several others were severely injured. Lariyah herself suffered life-threatening injuries: both lungs collapsed, nine ribs broken, a fractured skull, and a severed hand. She was brought back to life from clinical death. Following complex surgeries, her hand was reattached.
Through months of painful rehabilitation, she slowly regained sensation and relearned how to move it.
Against all odds, Lariyah emerged not only as a survivor but as a multi-awardwinning, world-traveling tattoo artist. Her unwavering ambition drives her to live each day as if it were her last.
